The Centre Georges Pompidou
<p style="text-align: center;">A few steps from the Hotel de Ville in Paris, west of the Marais, the Pompidou Centre was inaugurated in 1977 to house the National Museum of Modern Art, and has become a vast complex of public access to culture.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">The remarkable permanent collections and important contemporary art exhibitions held there since the late 70s and its architecture make it one of the world reference sets for the art of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is also one of the most visited museums in the capital. Conferences, screenings, performances are organized, the library and the bookstore make it an important cultural creative exchange place.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">It is at the Pompidou Centre that took place major retrospectives of artists like Wassily Kandinsky, Marcel Duchamp, Francis Bacon, Andy Warhol, Pierre Soulages, Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter and Anselm Kiefer. </p>
